The “Our Heritage - Charter for Democracy” Association has existed for more than two years. The organization adheres to the principle of equal rights for all Israeli citizens and, specifically, to equality of opportunities for all ethnical and cultural groups of the Israeli society. We combat discrimination, racialism, alienation towards the Israeli Arabs, Bedouins, Druzes as well as towards new immigrants from the former USSR and Ethiopia. The Association supports the peace process and the just settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on the principle “Two states for two nations”.
The Association conducts public and cultural meetings between new immigrants and the Israeli Arabs speaking Russian. For more than a year “Our Heritage” is engaged in organizing series of lectures on the subject “Democracy, Peace and Security”. The lecturers are mostly retired IDF officers, members of the Council for Peace and Security. The Association has established its Web page with the aim to explain to the Russian-speaking public the importance of peaceful settlement of the conflict between Israel and Arab world. The “Our Heritage” Association also carries out conferences for broad public on the burning issues, such as peace, democratic citizenship, multiculturalism.
