| | | Palestinian-Israeli-European Alliance for Peace The Palestinian-Israeli Peace NGO Forum, the European networks of peace NGOs and the Region of Tuscany decided to create a Trilateral Alliance to promote peace in the Middle East. The decision took place during a conference in Tuscany in June 2007 and has been discussed in detail during a joint meeting in Perugia on October 5th, 2007. In the occasion a provisional Steering Committee was established. | | | Forum Events/Gatherings The Peace NGO Forum meets regularly to discuss the situation on the ground, politics and work related issues. | | | Committees & Working Groups The Forum’s committees were established in order to give Forum members a space in which to design specific activities for other Forum members. Member organizations volunteer to participate in these committees and the committee then determines the content of joint activities.
The Palestinian-Israeli Peace NGO Forum has also established joint working groups which are composed of representatives from member organizations. Working groups are coalitions of Forum members who work together with the purpose of advancing peace work by focusing on a specific field or topic within the greater context of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Working groups cater to the needs on the ground that arise from the conflict, and are critical for keeping the Forum active, relevant and productive in terms of creating tangible changes on the ground.
The working groups function on two tracks—the joint track and the unilateral track. These two tracks enable the groups to maximize effectiveness by enabling members to work both on a broader regional level and on more domestic levels.
